- Comtrade Software Inc. has boosted its Hyperconverged Uptime (HYCU) software for Nutanix Inc.’s Enterprise Cloud Platform with support for VMware Inc.’s ESX hypervisor along with improved support for Microsoft Corp.’s Exchange and SQL Server, combined disaster recovery and backup for remote office/back office (Robo) environments and initial support for Nutanix Acropolis File Services.
- The Slovenia-based company, which planted its U.S. flag about a year ago, has put all its chips on the Nutanix hyperconverged platform, which it believes is poised to disrupt data centers with its simple deployment and cloud compatibility.
- The hypervisor-agnostic engine uses the same interface for both Acropolis Hypervisor and ESX, providing virtual machine-level context with Nutanix storage level snapshots and avoiding latency problems like “VM stun,” in which the virtual machine becomes unresponsive because of the underlying data protection process.
- New remote office features combine disaster recovery and backup in a single administrative process to cut bandwidth requirements by half.
